The Office of Academic Programs reports to the Dean of the Graduate School and is led by the Associate Dean for Academic Programs.  The office contributes to the University's educational and research missions by conducting quality assessments of existing academic programs and of newly proposed graduate programs.  The Academic Programs mission statement outlines our guiding principles.

Academic Program's institutional responsibility includes the following areas:

• Peer quality reviews of existing academic programs
• Reviews of new graduate degree/certificates/options
• Reviews of research centers, institutes, and undergraduate programs with no graduate component (as requested)
• Management of interdisciplinary programs located administratively within The Graduate School

The Office of Academic Programs also:

• Supports the Network of Interdisciplinary Initiatives (NII)
• Coordinates the Graduate School Council and elections
• Maintains general oversight of Graduate School academic policies, including the Graduate School Memoranda
